How to add a mortgage calculator to Wix
Wix keeps embedded code in a box; pick the embed mode that is happy living in one.

To add a mortgage calculator to Wix, drop an Embed HTML element on the page, paste the Inline in a frame snippet from your PrequalFunnel Embed tab, and size the box so the whole calculator fits. Wix runs embedded code inside its own sandboxed frame, so frame modes behave more predictably there than the default inline mode.
Key takeaways
- Wix's Embed HTML element runs your code in a sandboxed frame.
- Use the Inline in a frame mode, or the classic iframe, and set the box height.
- Popups and floating bubbles stay trapped inside the box; link a Wix button to the direct link instead.
- Test on the published site, not the Wix editor preview.
Why does Wix need a different embed mode?
Wix places anything you paste into an Embed HTML element inside its own sandboxed iframe, separate from the rest of your page (as of October 2026). The calculator works there, but it can't grow the Wix box to fit its height, and a popup or floating bubble can only open inside that box. Use Inline in a frame (or the classic iframe), set the box tall enough for the calculator and its results, and use a direct link for buttons elsewhere on the site.
How do you embed the calculator in Wix?
Menu names below describe the Wix editor as of October 2026; Wix renames things from time to time.
-
Copy the frame snippet
In your PrequalFunnel dashboard, open the calculator's Embed tab, choose Inline in a frame and copy the snippet.
-
Add an Embed HTML element
In the Wix editor, open the Add panel, find the embed or custom code section and drag an Embed HTML (embed a site or code) element onto the page.
-
Paste the code
Choose the code option rather than a website address, paste the snippet and apply.
-
Size the box
Stretch the element to full width and make it tall enough for the form and results, including the lead form. Check the mobile view separately; Wix lets you size it there too.
-
Publish and test
Publish the site and open the live page in a private window to run a calculation and submit a test lead.
What does the Wix snippet look like?
The same one-line embed with the frame mode selected. Copy the exact snippet from the Embed tab in your dashboard; it is the source of truth.
<!-- Affordability calculator, inline in a frame (for Wix) -->
<div data-prequal="affordability" data-key="ak_…" data-mode="iframe" data-lang="en"></div>
<script src="https://app.prequalfunnel.com/embed.js" async></script> How do you fix common Wix embed problems?
Most Wix issues are about the box, not the calculator.
| Symptom | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Calculator cut off at the bottom | Embed box shorter than the calculator | Make the element taller on desktop and mobile |
| Scroll bar inside the calculator | Box height fixed by Wix | Increase the height until the inner scroll disappears |
| Popup opens squashed inside the box | Popup and bubble modes can't leave the sandbox | Use Inline in a frame, or link a Wix button to the direct link |
| Nothing shows in the editor | Wix editor doesn't always run embedded scripts | Publish and check the live page |
| Shows on desktop, not on mobile | Element hidden or too small in the mobile layout | Unhide and resize it in the mobile editor |

How do you send a test lead from a Wix page?
Open the published page in a private window, run a calculation and submit the lead form with your own details. Check your CRM for the new contact with every input and result, and your inbox for the lead alert. If you send leads on by webhook (Producer or Brokerage), confirm the receiving tool got the same test.
Because the calculator sits inside Wix's sandboxed frame, it may not see the full address of your Wix page, so UTM tags and ad click IDs on that page can be missing from the lead. Visit with a tagged URL such as ?utm_source=test and look at what the test contact recorded. If campaign tracking matters, point ads and emails at the calculator's direct link with UTM tags instead, where the source is captured in full.
If you link a Wix button to the direct link, test that path too: tap the button on a phone, submit, and check the contact.

Questions loan officers ask
Can I use the default inline mode on Wix?
It runs, but inside Wix's sandboxed frame it can't resize the box and popups stay trapped. Inline in a frame gives more predictable sizing, which is why we recommend it on Wix.
Can I add a floating calculator bubble to a Wix site?
Not reliably through the Embed HTML element, because the bubble can only open inside the element's box. Link a Wix button or menu item to the calculator's direct link instead.
How tall should the Wix embed box be?
Tall enough for the inputs, results and lead form on the calculator you chose. Run a calculation in the live page, open the form, and increase the height until no inner scroll bar appears.
Does my Wix plan matter?
The Embed HTML element is available in the Wix editor; publishing to your own domain and some custom code features depend on your Wix plan. Check your plan in Wix. We don't list Wix prices.
Will Wix styling change the calculator?
No. The calculator runs in its own frame, so your Wix fonts and colors don't reach it. Set your brand colors and fonts in PrequalFunnel instead.
Can I show the calculator in Spanish on Wix?
Yes. Choose Spanish when you copy the snippet, or set data-lang to es. Visitors can still switch languages inside the calculator.
Why doesn't the traffic source show on my Wix lead?
The calculator runs in Wix's sandboxed frame, which may not see your page's full address. Test with a tagged URL, and for paid campaigns send traffic to the direct link with UTM tags. See lead attribution.
Can I use a classic iframe instead?
Yes. Copy the Classic iframe snippet from the Embed tab and paste it into the same Embed HTML element. Size the box the same way.
